Centre for Creative Photography's website has been redesigned
The new design was planned together with the web group of the associations board and the designers. Marko Taali and Timo Häkkinen from Dahmon Design are the men behind the new look. Taali was in charge of the visual aspects and Häkkinen took care of the technical side.
"The visual concept was discovered in the dignity of the old building as well as in a low-contrast colour scheme that gives way to the actual output of the centre's activity - photos. We set aim to create a consistent and credible site with emphasis on readability, usability and photographs and I think we did well.", says Taali. Häkkinen continues: "All in all this project was great fun to do as the atmosphere was so relaxed. Both parties shared their thoughts and visions, and then we all sat down together and discussed these ideas. I'm proud to say I built this site."
The need for new design became apparent not only to improve the visual look but also to offer the members of the association more possibilities to be shown in the pages. The most important change in the content of the pages is the Member Gallery, introducing works of the members. The Member Gallery can be found under the heading Activities. Also the pages in English are now updated, as a there are inquiries about the centre from abroad as well as from foreign friends of photography living in Finland.
In addition of a suitable outfit, logical usability and the clear presentation of important information were the criteria of the new pages. Feedback about the pages is most welcome, and of course the Member Gallery will be updated. Please send 3-8 of your works with at least the shooting years with them, preferably the size being 72 dpi, width max. 600 pixels. You can introduce yourself with a few sentence shown beside your works. Send the pictures to: info@ccp.fi
